Bridge Sensor Log

The klaxon of red alert blared throughout the ship, every crewman from ensign to commander rush to their posts. Security officers hammer their access codes to the weapons lockers on each deck. Although a hand phaser is standard for each security officer, something with a little more punch is needed when fighting the Borg. Medical officers grab portable med-kits and rush from the Infirmary to the breach in the hull. On the Bridge, the Admiral stumbles through the door leading from his Ready Room as another torpedo strikes the ship.

"Status report!" Draco Satarous shouts over the din of alarm and the rumbling of weapon impact on the ship shielding.

"Three Borg vessels Admiral." Korak, a Klingon tactical officer responded from the Captain's chair, "They came out of the nebula and-"

"On screen." Barked the Admiral. If he wanted a full report, he would've asked for one. Korak cleared the Captain's chair as Draco took it; the screen flickered to life as another torpedo struck the stern of the Federation Assault Cruiser. On the screen was the familiar black geometric shapes, floating in space, no visible propulsion, the sickly green glow shining from unknown sources. "How many?"

"Three Admiral; two Probes and one Diamond type." Tala, an Andorian tactical officer spoke up this time. "I recommend we disable the Probes before the Diamond. The Borg use them as shields against our torpedoes anyhow." The Admiral nodded.

"Agreed. Helm, Bring us about, hard to port; Korak, ready a volley of quantum torpedoes, maximum yield; Tala, fire beam weapons at will, continually change frequency." Draco pressed the intercom on his chair, "Engineering, how are we down there?"

"Commander Ojpee here sir. The Borg hit us hard. We have plasma fires on our port side, currently under control." The Ferengi Female moved across the deck while speaking. Removing a dead lieutenant from a control panel, she resumes her report, "We have injured down here Admiral."

"How is our warp core?" The Admiral knew, like everyone else on board, if the core was damaged, the scale of a survival was heavily tilted against you. Ojpee reported back that the warp core was undamaged. "Keep us flying Ojpee. transfer all available power to shielding and weapons. We can stand to be slow if we can hit them hard."

Korak signaled that a load of five quantum torpedoes were at the ready. Weapons lock was made and two torpedoes were fired from the back launcher. "Helm. Make that turn now. Hard to port. Cut impulse drive, use thrusters and spin us around!" The long vessel groaned at the sheer of the tight turn. A trail of green fire poured from the hull where the original plasma torpedoes struck the Exidian like a bleeding wound in the side of a great beast. The saucer section now pointed to the group of approaching Borg vessels holding a tight formation.

Korak reported his status, "Admiral, forward torpedoes report lock. Borg 8 kilometers and closing."

"Full spread, delta pattern, 3 second detonation." A smile crept across Admiral Draco's face at the sight of his challenge. "Helm full impulse, bring us between the Diamond and one of the Probes. Korak..." He looked over at the Klingon, who understood his commander's joy in this battle; he smiled as well.

"Fire"
